WHO IS KRAMPUS?
In Central Europe, Krampus is Santa's counterpart, handling the naughty boys and girls who misbehaved throughout the year. Historically, those children would receive punishment with birch switches -- but today, Father Krampus is more likely to rely on his impressive height and appearance to remind kids that both he and Santa are watching them year-round!
BEHIND THE KRAMPUS MASK
Father Krampus is performed by Aaron Chapman, a Dallas-based veterinary clinic manager who loves costuming, Scandinavian lore and history, and gaming. Chapman began performing as Father Krampus in the 2021 holiday season.
IS HE REALLY 7.5 FEET TALL?
Once you meet Father Krampus in person, you may be impressed by his massive stature. Father Krampus' costume was constructed by Chapman and his wife and includes stilts that rest on wooden hooves, for that realistic clip-clop sound!
